Websites
There’s really no excuse to be bored anymore, in this age of the internet – if you want to see something creative -I really suggest that your visit these sites.
Firstly
Eepybird.com
Currently they’re conducting the ‘Sticky Note Experiments’. A series of videos for you to watch of how they made all types of structures such a spinwheels, paper slinkies and much more out of sticky notes. The videos also explain how to make the structures yourself using only visual language.
Interesting, simple layout using sticky notes as navigation menus.
They also conducted the Diet Coke and Mentos Erruption Experiments – seriously worth a look
At number 2
You are able to contruct your own wire frame creature. You make him walk, wiggle and climb and control the physics of its enviroment. It also features other micro-games within the site which as you download you can compile into a game stack.
In at number three
If you want a good scaring, visit this site. I found it creepy from the offset; as they ask you to enable your mic and webcam. I was so intrigued by what would happen so I allowed it and continued into the site.
The website simulates a hotel. You start off walking through the hotel and continue into to different room where you have to control different scenarios.
For example, you’re in a room and can see figure moving around you, and you are holding a camera – you click to take a photograph and as you get the figure in shot, the photo reveals a young woman – the scene becomes more realistic as you take photos.
I took the photographs and became increasingly more disturbed with each scene that revealed itself till eventually I was scared out of my wits when the woman suddenly jumped out and screamed after taking so many photos.
In a different room you find an infant which appears to be asleep (although more disturbingly, I think the idea is that that the infant is in fact dead) in bed, to stop it from screaming at you, you have to sing a lullaby to the child and then creep out of the room controlling your balance to walk quietly, not to wake the infant.
Number 4
First you choose your chimp, then what it’s going to wear, thirdly where you want you’re monkey to be. You can make him speak in a varity of ways. They have pre-recorded speech; text to speech (I find this the most fun – you are able to type in whatever you want the monkey to say and then choose out of four different voices – it’s funnily realistic when the monkey speaks!); You are able to record by phone and also by microphone.
You can finally foward your ‘monk-e-mail’ to a friend or download as a video ringtone. Personally I like it just to monkey around with the monkey.
Fifthly in this list of mine, has to be
Enabling the power to broadcast to the masses – a fantastic creative revolution. Needs not much introduction – if you haven’t already been on this site I would think that you have most probably been dwelling in some sort of cave for quite some while.
